Meet Nancy Schleicher

Nancy Schleicher has been an active and highly respected homeowner in Deltona since 1973. She is a retired teacher, having taught for 39 years with over 30 of those years in Deltona Public Schools.

Nancy has and continues to be dedicated to Deltona, both before and after becoming a City. While serving two years as the President of the Deltona Civic Association, Nancy was the first person to embrace the cultural diversity of the City of Deltona and opened each of her meeting with a brief welcome in 5 different languages. As a City Commissioner, she recognized the need for better communication with the residents and started posting the agendas for all the Commission meetings and workshops on Facebook as well as many of the activities happening in the City. Many residents have even commented that if it wasn’t for her posts they wouldn’t know what was happening. Communication is something she want to continue to see improved.

Some of her achievements are listed below

I am proud of how our City has moved forward since I was elected four years ago. Since elected we have welcomed; Bethune-Cookman University, Fish Memorial Medical Park, Wal-Mart neighborhood market, McDonald’s, Dunkin Donuts, Race Trac gas station, Tractor Supply and several smaller businesses. Along with constructing a new Wastewater treatment Facility for current and future growth. We recently held the ground breaking ceremony for the Halifax Emergency Facility and soon will be finalizing the new Community/ Senior Center.

As the only homeowner in the District 4 race, I am cautious of our spending and millage rate as I pay City taxes just like our residents. This year I succeeded in having the Commission approved the lowest millage rate for Deltona in over 5 years!! My goal, when elected, is to continue to lower the millage rate each year.

I am proud to announce that I am endorsed by the following organizations:

  • West Volusia Board of Realtors
  • Central Labor Council (CLC)
  • IUOE local 487
  • Florida AFL-CIO
  • Laborers Local Union 517
  • Volusia Teachers Union
  • Deltona Professional Firefighters local 2913

Experience Counts – Let’s keep Deltona moving forward.

Vote: Nancy Schleicher for Deltona City Commission District 4
