All members of the Volusia County Democratic Executive Committee are Precinct Committee Chair. The office of Precinct Committee-Chair is without any question the most important position in the entire Democratic Party. Harry Truman once stated that it was the most important position he ever held. A Precinct Committee-Chair is a Democratic Party official at the local level elected or appointed to serve as the party leader in the precinct.
There are two ways to become an official Democratic Party Precinct Committee Chair: by being elected to a 4-year terms at the primary election in each year a presidential election is held , or by appointment by the Volusia County Democratic Executive Committee. All Democratic Party Precinct Committee Chair are required to sign a Loyalty Oath.
