All members of the Volusia County Democratic Executive Committee (DEC) are Precinct Committee Chairs – that is, a Democratic Party official at the local (precinct) level, elected or appointed to serve as the Democratic Party leader for that precinct (Volusia County–the 9th largest county in the state of Florida–is comprised of 125 precincts).
You can become an official Precinct Committee Chair in one of 2 ways:
- By being elected to a 4-year term at the Primary election each year that a Presidential election is held; or
- By appointment by the Volusia County DEC. All Precinct Committee Chairs are required to sign a Loyalty Oath.
